Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
- In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3-4 minutes). Add eggs one at a time, then mix in peanut butter.
- Gradually stir in sour cream and vanilla until combined.
- Fold in dry ingredients until just mixed; do not overmix.
- Divide batter between pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- For frosting, beat powdered sugar into softened butter along with cocoa powder. Gradually add heavy cream until desired consistency is reached.
