  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, melt the unsalted butter and let it cool slightly. Whisk in the brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and pumpkin puree, mixing until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined; do not overmix.
  6. If desired, fold in nuts for added texture.
