  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and half of the orange juice. Marinate chicken for at least 20 minutes.
  3. Toss marinated chicken in cornstarch until well coated.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and fry chicken in batches until golden brown (5-7 minutes per batch). Drain on paper towels.
  5. In a separate pan, combine remaining orange juice and brown sugar; simmer over medium heat until slightly thickened (3-4 minutes).
  6. Toss fried chicken in the sauce until evenly coated and serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
