  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until just warm to touch, then combine with sugar and yeast. Let it froth for 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Create a well in the center; add yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter over it, then sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Roll tightly into a log shape and slice into 12 pieces. Place cut-side up in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Drizzle with icing made from powdered sugar mixed with milk before serving.
