  • 3 cups powdered sugar (sifted) for frosting
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon for frosting
  • 3 tbsp unsulfured molasses for frosting
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract for frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Gradually add eggs and molasses.
  4. Alternately mix in dry ingredients and milk until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For the frosting, beat butter and cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in cinnamon, molasses, and vanilla.
