  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Proof the yeast by combining warm milk and sugar in a bowl; add yeast and let stand until frothy (5-10 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt; create a well in the center and add eggs and melted butter. Slowly pour in the yeast mixture, stirring until combined.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let rise in a greased bowl covered for about 1 hour.
  4. Prepare filling by mixing brown sugar and cinnamon together.
  5. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle (about ¼ inch thick), spread softened butter over it, then sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Roll tightly into a log shape and cut into equal pieces (about 1½ inches thick). Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. For icing, whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and enough milk to reach desired consistency. Drizzle over warm rolls.
